Who oversees your care in our clinic?
Mary Jo has decades of experience in the medical field from ICU nursing, travel medicine and Family medicine. I have worked with her for more than five years. She is thorough and will make sure our patients have the best care. Our practice in this clinic is that whenever possible, Dr. Turner steps in to learn about our patients and offer extra advice if needed to work together as a team along with you so that we all support your better health.
Dr. Rami Turner is a graduate of Texas Osteopathic Medical School in Fort Worth and completed her Family Medicine Residency program in Texarkana with University of Arkansas Medical School in 2015. In 2019, her life was rearranged by a debilitating autoimmune condition that is rare and hard to treat. So along with her doctors, she found a mix of pharmaceuticals and lifestyle changes along with some nutritional supplements to now pass along to her patients.
The office can't run without these guys
Steve was initially a computer science engineer. He is a fast learner and helps mostly in our back office for billing and helping to make appointments. He makes sure things stay on track. As all the rest of the staff, he is versatile while we get off the ground and does whatever necessary to help patients get what they need.
Hung is our front man. He answers the phone, and also works as a medical assistant to bring you back to the room for your healthcare provider. He has worked in many fields and is also a very fast learner. He also answers the phone and helps patients get what they need.
Teamwork is the goal of our clinic. Working together, we have strength to ensure your well being.

We are a Family Practice, providing general non-emergency medical services. Call us if you...
In this clinic, you will never be pushed into taking a medication or vaccine you do not want. Although some medications may pose better benefit than risk, no one should have to agree to care they don't want in order to get care they need.
In general, we can usually help anyone who walks in the door. But if you have a life threatening emergency then go to an Emergency Room.
We provide personalized nutrition counseling to help you achieve your health goals. We focus on creating sustainable lifestyle changes, not quick fixes. In our diet plans, we personalize your diet to your personal health conditions.
Our weight management program is designed to help you lose weight and keep it off. We provide comprehensive support, including nutrition counseling, exercise guidance, and medication management. We do have several tricks up our sleeve to help you obtain a healthy weight to reduce the burden of weight related problems such as diabetes, heart disease and joint pains.
If you have a chronic health condition, we can help you manage it. Every condition is different. There are too many factors to name in one place, but we are determined to get to the root cause of your condition to help improve your health and quality of life.
We provide comprehensive care for women of all ages, including gynecological exams, family planning, and menopause management. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate care that meets your unique needs.
We believe that knowledge is power when it comes to your health. That's why we provide a variety of patient resources, including educational materials, support groups, and access to our patient portal.
Our primary care physicians provide comprehensive care for all ages. We focus on building relationships with our patients to provide personalized care.
Our clinic is working diligently to become accepted as "in-network" for various health insurance plans and alternative healthcare cost-sharing plans. See the list at the top of this page.
We are accepting new patients!
The best way to see if we are in your network is to call the insurance company directly or visit their "Find a Doctor" web page.
Sometimes the insurance websites and search results on the internet will show an incorrect address; or the provider is listed, but some other information is out of date. If this happens, be sure to call your health insurance plan to inquire if our clinic is found to be in-network under the correct info.
Of course, we always accept self-pay patients.
Our clinic is becoming established with multiple insurance plans because we know that some patients cannot afford health care without insurance. There is a trade off to having health insurance and that is what I call "agency". When insurance pays for your doctor visits, you relinquish some control of your health care decisions.
An example might be that, although you have insurance, your insurance company will not pay your doctor to provide you with some specific care deemed necessary, because the insurance company disagrees. Yes, the doctor would provide care when necessary but the doctor is (sometimes) contracted in such a way that they must provide the service for free or not at all. In other words, the doctor is not paid by the insurance company and they are not allowed to bill you, either.
This is why we accept patients without insurance.
We are also contracted to request at least as much (or more) from a cash payer as the insurance company itself would pay. We do this do, but our prices are still low. Why? Because the insurance companies generally pay so little that, frankly, the reimbursement can make it difficult to provide optimal care. But that is what we strive for in our office. Our interest is in protecting our patients and helping them to lead healthy lives with improvements to their health.
This is a very good question. There are several reasons why the answer is "Quite possibly," see if one resonates with you...
At DR RAMI TURNER DO PLLC (dba Devoted Family Medicine), we understand that healthcare is more than just treating illness. It's about caring for the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. That's why we take a holistic approach to healthcare, focusing on prevention, education, and wellness. Our team of compassionate healthcare professionals is dedicated to providing you with the support and guidance you need to achieve your health goals.
I spent several years getting control of my own condition. I discovered that getting well meant that I had to change my whole lifestyle and mindset.
Health lifestyle: I had to eat healthy. No more fast food, no more quick store-bought meals and no more quick fixes. And who has time to cook? Nothing like buying healthy food only to throw it away. So, that to do? We have "healthy" food but how safe is it? Rumors and evidence of plastic and pesticides and even heavy metals are found in our food, and e.coli randomly showing up in our vegetables? E.coli lives in the guts of animals. So, the fight begins to examine our food, perhaps grow our own food and what to do when you aren't even home to eat? What to do when you are called to be on the road, and then you get hungry? I began an account with Juice Plus+© to fill in the gaps of my diet.
We love our patients, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.

It is happening! I can't believe how weird things can get. You asked for an office and here we are. The building is ready, although we have some additional training to do. We will still offer telehealth. But man oh man...
Many who have visited my site know that I have worked very hard to conquer my own medical condition. I could not lift, had no endurance, the pain was incredible. I was supposed to get worse but instead, through the grace of God, I have indeed become so much better. I can do more than even before getting sick, except I still can't walk continuously very often. But the fact is that I have indeed walked about two miles straight on the beach, and I can run. (Although I look like a robot when running... and don't tell my doctor, she will be mad at me!)
And now we are opening an office! All my doctors know this and are glad to see this happening.
Mary Jo is still with me and ready to help take up the slack if things get crazy. But yes, the time has come to build the type of practice that puts the patient first.
Many have asked and I didn't think it was possible, but what can you do when everything starts falling into place with almost no effort? Friends, family and even strangers gather around to help put things together for me and it has been amazing to watch!
My gratitude is endless, I am humbled. Even some medical equipment was practically given to me from another doctor leaving his practice. A man I had never met who passed by and felt "moved" to step in and lend support. Wow.
Years of combined experience in the medical field: Mary Jo has over 30 years of experience as a nurse practitioner, and Dr. Turner was 45 before her medical training began. Both of us have seen both sides of the provider's desk. It seems that the bureaucracy of medicine has become an encumbrance to helping patients get better, and we just can't stand for that. So we are going to change to a radical plan and (here it comes)... listen to you! Then we find a plan that uses integrative medicine to help you attain your best overall health. Our goal is to replace strong medications, whenever possible and medically safe, for effective yet gentler options. Let's get healthy!
No one is a cookie cutter patient. All of us come with a mixture of insults and achievements in our health. Our goal is to find the secret sauce that you need to feel healthy in your body, your mind and your soul. In the process, we work with prescribed medications, multiple supplements, education, as well as general coaching and counseling. Our Integrative Medicine is through researched methods with no hidden costs.
Dr. Turner, upon receiving the devastating diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome, was forced to look "outside the box" in order to help her own body. Instead of getting progressively worse, as was expected, she has learned to manage her disease and improve her condition. In so doing, her challenges are met every day which is the nature of achieving good health. One must practice self-care every day.
You know your body best. You know what you can tolerate, and what is difficult for you. Proper evaluation and reassessments can take time. Sadly, getting adequate face-to-face time has been difficult for providers and patients alike. We have busy lives and, in the clinics, growing bureaucracy and endless regulations have taken bite after bite out of the time that providers can spend interacting directly with you. We are here to listen to your situation with an open mind, unencumbered by other deadlines and by too many appointments imposed by the corporate medicine machine. We control our time so that we can provide you with undivided attention during your appointment.
Our appointments are done via telemedicine, primarily for residents of Texas.
Well, we are still here. Building a business is not an easy task. There are bumps in the road no matter what, we had to change our electronic health system TWICE!, our initial billing service was not helpful and the person we paid to get me credentialled didn't follow through. Fortunately, I did some applying between seeing patients, and made some progress. Even better, a wonderful knew we needed help and reached out to us. She's been great - shout out to Amanda! You may never meet her but she's been a big help for all of us!
Can't wait to meet you in person!
Dr. Turner is a licensed physician in the State of Texas.
If you are having an emergency then call 911.

This was one of the first videos I made regarding my autoimmune condition. Like most things in life, good health requires effort, but it is worth the effort.
